Description: The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a free nutrition program for families who qualify. WIC's goal is to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants, and children under age 5 healthy. To do this WIC provides:- Free, healthy foods using the eWIC debit card.- Personalized nutrition counseling.- Breastfeeding information, support and breast pumps.- Information on other services such as medical and dental care, child care and housing. Families use the eWIC card which is debit-type card to purchase WIC foods at most grocery stores. *WIC does not ask for immigration status. All information is confidential.

Eligibility: Pregnant women or women breastfeeding a baby under 1 year of age, new moms who had a baby or were pregnant within the last 6 months, families with a child younger than 5 years.Fathers, grandparents, foster parents and other guardians can apply for WIC for children under 5 years of age. If a household is receiving Medicaid, TANF, SNAP or FDPIR (Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations), they may be automatically income-eligible for WIC. If not participating in any of these four programs, must meet income guidelines.Pregnant women can be counted as one or two individuals when determining household size, depending on their preference.
